Brad Crist, TechTAC’s owner and president, has joined the Board of Trustees of The Road Home, a nonprofit organization that assists individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Salt Lake City area. As a volunteer member of the board, Crist will collaborate with other business and community leaders to support and advance the organization’s mission.
For more than 100 years, The Road Home has been committed to a singular mission: helping people step out of homelessness and back into the community. During that time, the group has provided safety, shelter and dignity to tens of thousands of individuals and families in the Salt Lake City-metro area and beyond.
“My family and I have supported The Road Home for years, so I am humbled and honored to join the Board of Trustees,” Crist said. “Homelessness affects people from all walks of life, but often it’s a community’s most vulnerable groups who suffer most, including disabled veterans, single-parent families and those struggling with mental health.
“The Road Home envisions a community where those people can seamlessly move from cold streets into warm housing, and from despair and alienation toward hope,” he added. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to play a small part in achieving that vision.”
Since 1923, The Road Home has provided emergency shelter, supportive services and housing assistance to individuals and families in need. In the organization’s resource centers, people can access vital services, such as beds, showers, meals, laundry, donated clothing and additional support to help them return to a place they can call home. Case managers can help clients connect with job training and development, public benefits, substance use treatment, mental health assessments and treatment, childcare services, housing assistance and more.
“The Road Home’s Core Values include equal treatment, compassion, respect and dignity,” Crist said. “That foundation aligns very well with TechTAC’s Core Values, where we appreciate conducting business with integrity and authenticity, showing respect, and treating others how we want to be treated. In that way, The Road Home is a wonderful match, personally and professionally.”
